If you are staying in Central London then you have the chance to have a truly action packed night out that can last well until the small hours!

I would advise anyone undertaking our recommendations to make sure that they have a well stocked wallet and a very well stocked medicine cabinet!

To start off the evening you can head into the West End to enjoy a simple and affordable evening meal at any of the delightful little restaurants which litter the back streets of this area. There are some wonderful Italian restaurants in this area which really are quite easy on the pocket and they are of course very authentic with a large population if Italians in this area.

Follow your meal with a trip to one of London’s famous theatres in the West End. At the moment, tickets are available for the Wizard of Oz show which starts in March of next year. These are apparently going to sell like hot cakes so you would be well advised to buy your Wizard of Oz tickets now.

After the Theatre you should be in a fine frame of mind for a few drinks. There are lots of great bars in and around Piccadilly and Leicester Square, so take you pick of these, and settle in for a few hours to watch the world go by with a few drinks. After this, there is a whole host of nightclubs to visit in the local area. Some are quite expensive to gain entry to, but believe me, they are well worth the price.

After all of this, you will be more than ready for your bed and that medicine cabinet I mentioned earlier!

I was pretty terrified when my best friend told me that my stag do was going to be in Paris. I had visions of seeing my friends waving to me from the deck of a ferry as I lay helpless, tied up on the deck in nothing but a pair of Speedo’s, but luckily he had booked our trip for a good month before the actual wedding. Thinking about it, I would probably need that long to recover! I had no idea that he was planning to organise the trip in France but it turns out that he had heard that there were some really cheap hotels in Paris that we would be able to stay at. This sounded fine to me, and knowing my friends, despite the fact that they would want to make sure I was and truly plastered at night time, they would probably encourage a bit of sight-seeing during the day which would be great for me. I had actually always wanted to go to Paris, but I had always imagined it would be some time in the future with my wife!

From what I can remember, we had a great time in Paris! The bars and clubs over there are fantastic, and if your tastes are a little more risque than others, then you are pretty well catered for too! I’m sure I will go back there one day with my wife, but I think I’ll end up taking her to slightly different places!

If you are planning for a proper night out in the city of London, the first piece of advice I would give you is to book into a hotel before you hit the first bar! There are lots of cheap hotels in London and you can really let yourself go if you know that there is a bed nearby to crash in!

If you are heading out for the night in London, then the city really is your oyster. You can choose to dance the night away in Fabric ‘til the early hours of the morning or you can venture into Soho for a lovely traditional Italian meal followed by some slow and easy tunes in a jazz bar of your choice. Either way, if you take care and keep your wits about you, you should have a great night.

It’s always worth while checking the transport links from the area you are going out in, back to the area of your hotel. Many of the Tube stations close surprisingly early for what is regarded as a twenty four hour city, but if you know where you are going and if you plan ahead you can rely on the night buses to get you home.

London obviously has somewhat of a reputation for it’s no go areas. Make sure you are aware of these but don’t let this put you off having a great night out. The figures for crime in London are exacerbated by the fact that there are simply more people in London than anywhere else, so by its very nature it is bound to have more incidences of crime. You yourself are probably no more likely to get caught up in anything in London than your home town, providing you try to stay the right side of drunk, and keep your wits about you.
